refletions of the year gone by....

Please excuse me all, none of this is ment to hurt anyone or to ask for sympathy. We all have our hidden sorrows... some not so hidden. I have had a glass of my wonderful Irish Cream so am feeling reflectful (an actual word?)
Thank you God for all the blessings and the sorrows of the past year. Thank you for my darling little Luke who's life with us was so short. Thank you for the sorrow of letting him go. Without sorrow there is no joy. I hate to see this year go because it was Luke's year. I am glad to see it go because it was a painful year. A piece of my heart lives with you now Lord and I know you are caring for him well for me.
Thank you Lord for finally diagnosing my Joe with his learning disabilities and for giving us the people with the skills and compassion to help him. Please continue to help him not give up the struggle.
Thank you for my darling daughter Abigail. She is a joy and one of my prides. Thank you God that at this time she has no major problems.
Thank you for all the progress and joy my little ADHDer Jake has given us through the year. I never thought he would come so far.
Thank you for my naughty little Pete. He has been my salvation this year. The one that still wants to be held and kissed.
Thank you for my husband. This has been the worst and hardest year of our 17 year marrage. He has stood beside me through everything.
Lastly thank you for all my friends, those I knew I had and those I didn't know about. Thank you for everyone at this site. Please give me the strength and knowlege to help them through thier hard times. Please continue to be with us all. Amen. May all have a blessed and wonderful year in 04. Sue I think I will have another glass of Irish Cream!

what a beautiful, thoughtful post, sue. you've reminded me that, indeed, without the gray clouds, we don't really appreciate the silver linings. our adhd'ers add so much joy and thankfulness to our lives that other parents will never get to experience.
may 2004 bring you large and small silver linings!

2003 has been wonderful for Paul.I am so thankful he is in my life.I know as parents we do the teaching,and at times it is so hard.On the other hand he has taught me so much.I have always had compassion for people,but because of him,even more so.


2003 was not so great for me personally..I left my job because I could not stand the politics for one more minute.I am truly going to miss the kids,but I promised I would come back to visit. 2004 looks promising.

Jorgy you are so strong God bless you thank you for making us reflect "without sorrow there is no joy" are words that hit hard, God almost took my mom to be with him this year I am so much more gratful for her everyday. I am so sorry he took your Luke. It is a beautiful name for an angel.

2003.... Has been enlightening for me about my Eric. 2004.... Brings in my acceptance that there are parts to him that I have to understand and learn how to help him with.. I am resolute to be ready for the new challenges that face my beautiful child.

Jorgy; I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Luke is a beautiful name for an angel. i hope you have a Peaceful day and that the new year brings more sunshine than clouds.
