Hmmm........so me having three ADHD kids, one infant, a husband also ADHD and two dogs is what? I think a few full time jobs!! I almost died when one lady asked for my work number, and did I work. I said "I work my tail off and I do it at home!" PS: to all who are from ADHD.com, I am minkmommy, just had to find a new user name

I believe age to be a factor. Those with older children will surely agree with me that parenting a teen is a completely different proposition from parenting a toddler - and that parenting a boy and parenting a girl entail different challenges and require differing skills and communication styles.
Figuring Dr. Phil's typical group of three by statistical norms, we can ballpark an age range of about seven years, oldest to youngest. Odds are two of one gender, one of the other, with MFF and MMF being of equal chance, so any parent of such a set is employing 2/3 effort for one gender skill set and 1/3 for the other. He rates all this as the equivalent of 2 full-time jobs.
My oldest and youngest are separated by nearly two decades in age. Their genders are split in both age ranges.
So I figure I'm doing 6 2/3 full-time jobs!
(and this is without factoring in their cognitive disabilities - or mine!)

OK.... I care for 4 children ages, 4,5,10,17.. all of them have some sort of handicap from ADHD, OCD, ODD, SAD, BIpolar, :'(mild mental retardation, and PTSD , 2 boys with Hemophilia A , Ceribal Palsy .. so in Dr.Phils world, I'M A SAINT . The end of my day I drop in the bed and pray for a little sleep during the night. Hoping no night terrors, bad dreams or the meds wore off and the girls ages 10,17 are up all night.
