I gave my ds7 the gift card from the donor yesterday evening. I did it very matter-of-factly, no huge emotions. He gave a sweet smile and looked down. Then he asked if he could buy more Yu-gi-oh cards with it and I said "yes!!" I usually tell him no more cards, he must have thousands already, but hey, this wasn't my money! I quickly took him to toys r us, I wanted to get rid of the gift card asap! When he got home he asked me why his dad sent the card, I told him because his dad loves him. My ds said very quietly, "maybe he does." (breaks my heart). (I know the donor hardly shows love, but I will say whatever is necessary to make my ds feel better about himself). I picked last night to give ds the gift card because we were having dinner with his big brother's family and I thought it would be good timing. One time when my cell phone rang, ds said, "is is daddy?!!!!", but that was it. (the donor doesn't even know my cell number). Thankfully for me, the donor never called at all. Knock wood, I am hoping things remain quiet. I am so glad to have the giving of the card over with. Thank you so much for all your help.
