The stockings were thrown on the back of a chair,
In hopes that St. Mommalos soon wouldn't care;
The children were wrestling each other in their bed,
While visions of damaged walls flashed in her head,
And grandma watched mischief, poked eye and a slap,
Tried to settle 'em down and turn off the rap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
We sprang from the house to see what was the matter...

and out on the lawn there was such a strange sight
some reindeer, a sleigh and a lot of bright light
and inside the sleigh was a man clothed in red
and by now all the children were out of their bed.
"It's him" cried the youngest "I knew he would come"
and she ran back inside to get food and some rum...
The middle aged son was so shocked he was quiet
which made such a change from the usual riot...

Caused such a stir there was none left in bed
