As my adhd/inattenive daughter is winding down with her final end of course exams, I can literally feel the stress slipping from my body. IT FEELS SO GOOD!
Never mind that I have not finished shopping for Christmas, or that I don't have the first gift wrapped. I just need the break as I'm sure so many of of do.
One of my main goals for this two week break we have is to hold my 14 year old accountable for reading a book. I'm sure this will prove to be a major undertaking equal to the stresses of school. However, I am determined. I am hoping The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens will help motivate her into being more proactive and not reactive. Who knows....Am I expecting a miracle?
Maybe this would be our Christmas miracle.
And Yes! I could use a good relaxing bath.

Well, Christmas is a time of miracles. Good luck on the book. I hope she reads it and maybe even gets something out of it. Enjoy your bath.

Is that what she is reading "Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens?" If not, you might have better luck if you let her pick the book. Then it may not feel like school, but more fun??

Hi Lucybell & Good Luck !!! I don't think I would have any luck at all in getting my 15 year old add son to read this book .... but I do agree with Honeysmom - that you could maybe have much more luck in getting her to read a book of her choice.... However, I am not sure whether the goal is to get her to read "a book" or whether you want her specifically to read this one?
