Actually - there is a blood test for depression. But there is ALSO the spect scan used by Dr. Amen. And even in the 2003 pamphlet issued to schools and parents by the government - it is speaking to the fact that there seems to be physical evidence - basically the frontal lobe size - for ADHD. I just wish the medical world would start studying the AMEN clinic and more clinics using the spect scans would become available around the country. I wish the media that is so good at telling the world that ADHD doesn't exist would actually do shows and look into the AMEN clinic. I guess it is more "sensational" to bash the concept of ADHD then it is to support it. Unfortunately until then - we all have to deal with the ignorant people out there be they radio show hosts, actors, talk show hosts or are own family members! But thank goodness for this board where we can all vent, share, support and understand together! Thank goodness for all of you!!!

I didn't know there was a blood test for depression. I wonder then why they just hand out anti-depressants like candy. Very interesting.

There is a test that several people I know have taken that measures seratonin levels. There are others that test the pineal gland - something about melatonin. But they aren't industry standard and you don't have to take these tests for depression because depression isn't contingent on either one of these things. For my father - he is manic depressive and has a shortage of lithium in his system. But it was worth mentioning that these tests do exist. But just so no one thinks I disagree - I do agree that just because there is no blood test that disorders don't exist.
