Shelli, I would suggest contacting the Feingold Association for some of their published brochures on the connection between diet and behavior. They are a non-profit so the materials vary from free to low-cost. (Take a look at the website at www.feingold.org ) You might also want to contact Laura Stevens for her recommendations through her website at users.nlci.com/nutrition/ . Laura is the author of "12 Effective Ways to Help Your ADHD Child" and has published a number of research studies in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Reprints from the November 2003 Alternative Medicine Review article comparing Ritalin to nutrition-based treatment (and finding them equally effective) would make for educational reading. And I'm sure specialist clinics such as the Amen Clinic, the Block Center and the Pfeiffer Treatment Center would be only too happy to provide material on their particular approaches to treating ADHD. Research on biofeedback and ADHD shows increasing promise, and I know that literature on this is available from the Association for Applied Psychophysiology And Biofeedback ( www.aapb.org/ ) I could go on and on and on and on about this subject, but fear I've strayed quite a bit from the original topic, so I will force myself to quit now. Sorry for the novel.
