Marja,
My nephew (11) in Holland speaks English beautifully. He met Alexander for the first time this summer and, aside from his accent, you forgot he didn't speak English as his first language. they had no problems communicating at all. He was even able to explain certain expressions to his mom! He thinks part of the reason was that he plays alot of computer games that are in English. He learned a lot of the proper pronunciation from these games, as well as alot of vocabulary. He also learned alot from music too!
I tried learning Dutch but it is too much for me! French I can handle, even Japanese seems easier than Dutch!
He'll be speaking well in no time!!

Eaccae
Thank you, that make´s me think that he´ll get it someday ;D Well, I know he´ll get it, he´s so enthusiasticly interested of different language´s and culture´s that there is no problem with motivation, as long as the theacher doesn´t blow it away as Kaiti said ;D I hope, I hope, I hope!!!!!
Kaiti
Iwould start with the basic´s like: My name is.... colour´s... number´s... some basic exspression´s like good morning, I´am sorry... could I get... and thing´s like that so he could handle the "small talk" in german. Good luck!!
