We got her report card, and well as I knew it is bad... Sd apparently didnt gain ANY ground, what a waste of time that was...
In the report for mathematics it says " SD had difficulty following direction and completeing work independently. She was easily distracted by her surrounding (especially her own clothing). me here, so what I send her to school naked next month? Sd did interact well with her classmates during small group work."
It also says " Difficulty sequencing numbers, written count to 10 (many inconsistancies between 10 and 20)" I quized her last night the first time she got right through to 20... The second time to show dad she messed up horribly~
"has difficulty comparing amounts at times due to a low numerical sense" "provides random guesses" "needs assistance with problem solving. Counting accurately remains a concern".... The counting problem is because her hand moves faster then her mouth when counting out loud, I have seen this ALOT! Just cant slow the girl down...
The grading was a rarely, learning or consistant... Sd got 6 rarely's, and 4 learnings...
Now in language arts- "sd is a great friend to the other students. However, her behaivor me here-their misspelling btw has affected her performance this summer. She does not like to listen to directions YA THINK! whether it be a suggestion to help her reading or a reminder to return her library book. On many occasions I had to remind her to keep a positive attitude. It was very difficult to make any progress with sd because of her lack of interest"..
It also says her beginning reading level was 1, I dont get that!! She was at reading level 6, when school was out, just ONE week before... Her ending reading level was 3, after 6 weeks of summer school...
Me here- I just dont know what to do with sd anymore... I dont know how to motivate her, and make her interested in learning... And I dont know how (or even why anymore) to teach her anything... I give up! I gave dh the sylvan information, but IF he has to get bm's ok on it he will not even have the testing done... ARGH! I would be willing to pay the whole bill (and keep the rest of my hair), but it sounds like sylvan wants both dh and bm to agree to the testing, and well because of that dh wont do it...
