Get your broom and pointy hat out and camp out in the principals office if you need to, but get your DS away from that awful woman. NO ONE should ever put their hands on a student. Call the school board and the super. Oh, I am steaming right now. GRRRRRRRRR!!!!

Baytay...
I have a feeling you are a lot like me...Personally I HATE confrontation and conflict, and I'll go out of my way being upset before I ever think of getting a teacher fired... So... if I'm right and you're this type of personality then... ((((big hugs))))....
BUT you can't let the principal and the teacher off that easy. If your son actually TOOK your child to the 8th grade hallway, then why didn't HIS teacher do anything about it? *see the steam coming out my ears yet?* I'm so proud of your son for taking him away from the situation...PLEASE let him know that I think he's the greatest big brother!!
This is beyond my imagination!! You HAVE to do something... There is NO REASON for this woman to be a teacher...and I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, but that's how I feel after hearing how she is acting... She needs to be SUSPENDED from teaching until she gets control of her actions!!
Have you called other parents in the class and talked to them about her? Have you asked them what THEIR children think of her? I think I'd call around and see if others are having problems as well...
How many more days of school do you have until the end of the school year? I think I'd go above the principal like the others here have said and talk to the super...
(((HUGS)))

Babytay, Give both your boys a big ((((((((hug)))))))))) from me. Throw one in for the baby girl too.
I am at a loss for words. If you can't see the steam coming out of my ears too, it's there. THANK GOD IT"S SATURDAY. I hope your boy woke up with a big ole smile on his face.
Do you know any of the other teachers? Maybe if you are on a personal level with them, then you can see about having him moved to that class with the work from Ms. *****'s class. Or Even the library.
I'm just tossing around Ideas here. Kaiti

Hello everyone thanks for the support. It has been a rough school year. Jason had an asthma attack Sunday so no school for him yesterday. He was very happy. I think you all made me go and do the right thing. Other parents have complained. The teacher has been sent on a leave for now. Today there was a sub in class I think she will be there for a week. I wonder what the school is going to do. My son is in a private school so I am in the process of finding out who I should go to that is over the principles head. It is real touchy. I dont know if anyone is familiar with Chicago but my boy is in a school that is very popular. The pastor of the parish is all over the news all the time. It is known for being an excellant school and church. Also it seems the principle and the paster of the church at the school favor this teacher. I am glad he is getting out of there this year. It is strange how this school worked out so well for my oldest son but is terrible for my younger son I am going to make sure something is done I dont know what yet after reading you guys posts I shouldnt let this go. In the meantime my son is getting a mini vacation from his teacher for a few days. Also we had a very good weekend because Jason had a good baseball game. I was told he got some RBI's not quite sure what it is but he was important on Saturday It was real nice for him all the kids on the team like him so far I hope it continues this way maybe the summer might be nice. He has even been invited to a couple of the kids houses. Not to act to surprised but it is just nice for a change.

RBI = Runs Batted In. That means that even if he didn't score a run he got some kids who were on base across home plate for a score. Good job for him! That's a tense situation for a kid playing baseball.
I surely sympathize with the asthma. It's been a good year so far for Li'l Sprout but he missed over a week of school last year over asthma. Hope you caught it quick and he's doing better.
What a relief to hear that teacher is gone for at least a while. With any luck she'll come back in a better frame of mind and with a better understanding of what a teacher should never ever do in the classroom.
The politics sound pretty messy. I don't know a thing about how parochial schools work and whose cages to rattle. Hope you can figure it out.
Kids are different. What works great for one may work awful for another. That's the way it goes. Do you think it's just this teacher who's so bad for your son or does the school just not fit him very well in general?

(((Babytay & family))). I am glad that things are at least working out for the short term. I work w/a woman who's children both have ADHD and she pulled them from their parochial school because the staff seemed to carry the belief that The ADHD related problems were all behavioral and they were unwilling to accomodate her children's needs in any way. This is not to generalize about all parochial schools though. Let us know what furhtur action is taken by the schools.

That is good news Babytay... the fact that something was done.... like Sierra said, if nothing else, maybe this will serve as a wake up call! And at least your son is free of her for a while... or is it permannetly? When does school let out there?
You say he's in the Chicago area? Is this school tied in any way to Hyles-Anderson in Hammond? My brother went to that college and worked as the personal security guard to the pastor many years ago.
Anyway, being in the Chicago area and knowing that is where Oprah is, maybe she'd be interested? hehe Picture a little devilish face here!
Good luck with things continuing to work out for the better and give that boy a congrats from me for those RBI's! Way to go!!

Are we going to be on our Oprah kick again? How are things so far babytay? I hope he's feeling better from his asthma attack, my husband has tendencies, but I couldn't imagine a full blown attack. Take care Kaiti

Hey everyone things seemed cool yesterday. I dont want to speak to soon but he was very calm when I picked him up yesterday. I think he had an okay day I am not sure about the work he didnt complete. I think this is going to be a problem for my son. He just needs more time for his school work. He was calm when we got home to. His voice is still weak but he is much better. I am glad it is not to hot here in Chi town this week. someone asked when is the last day of school. he has about 3 weeks. I think june 11 is the las day. I am thinking of pulling jason on june 4th which is my oldests boys last day he will graduate. Thank you all so much. It is like having a sister or a mom to talk to . Everyone gets back to you so quickly when you are having a problem. This place has been so helpful to me and my family. you guys are the best .
