First, keep in mind, I'M OLD! Several years ago and before living in Houston, I was a Branch Office Administrator for Edward Jones. Since we moved and I had to quit my job, I've not been gainfully employed. Today, I took a test to become an "on-call" Branch Office Administrator and PASSED!!! WooHoo!!! This might be just the ticket for me to be in the workforce a little. It's like substitute teaching, and if I'm available, I'll fill in, if not, no big deal! Hey, being old may not be so bad afterall!

I don't see old, I see wisdom. I don't see age, I see experience. I don't see wrinkles, I see compassion. I do see the greatness in your accomplishments. Congratulations!! Miles

I was a Branch Office Administrator (full time) for Edward Jones in another town for a short period of time. After moving here two years ago, I found out that many of the offices in the area are cryin' for "on call" BOA's to fill in for vacations, sick leaves, maternity, etc. Of course, living in Houston, there are many, many offices in and around the area where I live. I think I still have to be RE-fingerprinted and do a drug test, but that's about all that's left to do. There MUST be training to do and since I've not done this in several years, I sure need to be refreshed, but I feel certain I'll be paid while training, just like I was before. The training I did before was to be completed in 6 months, but I completed it in three. Working "parttime", I'm sure it would take longer. I can't believe I did this....and right before the holidays when I'm going to have a whole house full of family! Oh well.........

But think of the extra money I know with me not working in the summer, it has dealt a blow to us financially, so when I start getting checks again :DIt's amazing the peace I feel inside just not having to worry about buying little extra things Good luck with the training. Can I ask, what is Edward Jones? Is it a financial institution or bank? Something along those lines I am gathering......

Yes, Kaiti, it's an investment company....you know; stocks, bonds, annuities, mutual funds, etc. It can be quite complicated...that's why I'm not an investment representative. I'd rather be out in the front shuffling the paper that investments create. Gee, come to think of it, I might need some new clothes......woohooooo!! I guess I could skip the new shoes, though. I think I have fifty pair (no kidding)!
