Oh Linda ... I'm sorry I am laughing ... ;D In my household its actually the 'opposite' ... I am much more "softly softly" than dh who has a habit of "telling it like it is!" ... ;D ... oh but to be fair ... just like you (because I know this also to be true!) ... dh would never be "cruel" ... and you can always be sure of an honest answer and really (although sometimes I could KILL him!) this is a very GOOD thing!!

Linda, I always LOVE your leading thread starters. My husband says I'm a...
My mind had already filled in the blank with "BLAH, BLAH, BLAH" since that is how much store I put into what husbands in general have to say!

Linda! I have spent my whole life being a blurter. There is a saying in my family "If you don't want to hear the answer don't ask Helen a question." I have sort of learned to be diplomatic in my answers but mostly the answer you get is what I think. When my BIL asked me why I socked my sister in the eye, I told him "She needed it 40 years ago."(thats the truth) I have to be very careful around my husband's sisters because "nice delicate southern ladies" don't give blunt answer. When my SIL (who thinks she's better than everyone) wanted to know why we didn't want to see her while she was in town, I told her, "BECAUSE YOU ACT LIKE THE QUEEN COMING DOWN FROM THE MOUNTAIN TOP TO VISIT THE PEASANTS" My dh had a COW. My mother laughed for 10 minutes and then said "well Helen, you you really shouldn't fight with your in-laws" My SIL has learned not to ask me questions.

P.S. All the ADHDer's in my family have this trait. I just seem to have less tact than others. I have written about Rose making comments about the guy behind the cosmetics counter. ("He sure thinks he's wonderful doesn't he?") My husband is getting real good at hiding when we're out in public.

If they were close friends then your close friend had to know what she was asking...and what she would get ..which is honesty. She would probably be more upset had you lied. Hubbys claim to be so hard shelled and honest yet they are usually softies who dont want to upset the cart when it comes to kids.. ;D ;D ;D good luck and if he doesnt see eye to eye with you " be honest" with him. ;D

Sweety, I'm one of those nice, delicate, southern ladies.....and I wish I weren't. I HATE confrontation and I'll say anything to keep peace. It's not a trait I admire in myself, but old habits are hard to break.
