Christy your mom is very very lucky to have a daughter like you to help her. Make sure she gets lots of rest and to follow all the great advice already given~~your mom has been thru an awful lot this past year she just needs to slow down and relax and hopefully now that she is at your home she can do that and have a full recovery. I also hope she is there to stay because it sounds like your sisters house is just to much for her to take~~~even if she didn't have pneumonia.

Unfortunately as long as I have a sister and two nieces thru her, my mom will never "slow down". I don't know what the draw is because she was certainly never this way with me or with Cami when she was a baby, but for whatever reason my mom acts as if 24 hours can not go by without seeing them. She was over there a couple hours last night and tonight believe it or not she plans on going to our local skate center to watch them skate. Funny, when Cami was younger and took gymnastics, the gymnastics place was very close to her house and she never came to watch Cami...when Cami was in cheerleading she never came to watch her cheer because it "hurt her to sit that long", yet she can go to the sakte center to watch K's two when she has pneumonia. I just can't figure it out.

The reason "my " mom does things with my sis's daughter is that she knows the child has a need for "good" attention instead of the "bad" attention she constantly receives at home...maybe your mom feels the same kinda need to keep and eye on the children in order to make sure they are okay...sounds like she has a need to check in..I sure wouldn't sit at a skating rink with pnumonia unless there was a dire need.

M/C, my friend brought this same thought up today...and you know, it does make sense! Mom has said a few things the last couple nights to indicate she is finally seeing the light regarding K and her parenting so maybe mom does feel the need to check on the babies. She DID come to her senses though and decide not to go to the skate center. She came home around 6 and relaxed for the night. We watched the premiere of Survivor together.
