;D Oh yes !! ... I find personally the biggest difference is with driving ... put on something "beaty" and "fast" and the driving SPEEDS UP and yet put on something "sad or slow" and I drive like a little old man !! (no offence to little old men!! ) .. However having said THIS I am not sure this is a good thing!! Turning however to exercise ... since I am pretty darn LAZZZZY I cannot actually comment on anything specific on the treadmilling or exercise side of things... (will leave that to more energetic friends!! ;D) but I CAN well appreciate that music can make a HUGE difference to the state of mind and the relevant ENTHUSIASM in the exercise!!

I don't listen to music, but take a recorder along to record all of those important thoughts of things to do, want to do, and ways to get them done. If I don't think of anything, I always have some tune running through my head. Miles

Are you kidding? ;D ;DMusic? When I am walking ....I am thinking OMG How much longer my feet are killing me ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Linda! You crack me up!! I prefer anything rock. When I'm on my elliptical in the mornings or walking in the eenings when not at Curves and when Cami is at swimming I will listen to either a local rock station that plays classic and current rock, or I'll pop a cd in my headset. It has to be upbeat though to keep me going. CDs can vary from the stuff of my old days (the 80's) to current groups. Old groups that keep me going is Journey, Foreigner, Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Heart, and Fleetwood Mac. Current CDs that keep me moving are 3 Doors Down, Crossfade, and even a few Cami likes like Avril Lavigne, Papa Roach, and Simple Plan. At Curves they play various cds that can range from Beach Boys type music, oldies, 70's, 80's, and even religious songs that have been "revved" up. It's all fast though, and very upbeat. What Anne is saying is true...the more upbeat the music the faster you will find yourself moving as you subconsionsly move to the beat, and listening to the music does SEEM to make the time pass by quicker!

I have an mp3 player with a huge mix of stuff. Lord of the rings, phantom of the opera, and a few muppets songs are the weirdest stuff on there. Most of it consists of "classic rock" like rush, supertramp, styx, Elton John... I do have some newer stuff also like 3 doors down and nickleback.

:DAlright, who mentioned beach boys, I can't get I get around out of my head ;D ;D ;D I love oldies, that has ALWAYS been apart of my listening genre.....Mike doesn't care for it, so if I want to be smart, I keep the oldies 98 station on for a few seconds until he gives me a dirty look, then I sit back and sing the song........he hates to tell me to stop singing.......I'm spoiled like that. ;D ;D See Linda, music is a fine art form ???OK, can't think of an iontellegent thing to put behind that ;D ;D ;D ;D Buddy Holly is good too, GREAT BALLS OF FIRE is now stuck in my head-----how did I go from Buddy Holly to Jerry Lee Lewis ;D

Based on the fact that I cannot listen to it while driving because I'll speed, I'll bet that the soundtrack from "Run Lola Run" would work great. It has a lovely driving beat because...well, she's running pretty much the entire time.
I listen to stuff like Limp Bizkit (I know, I know, but it has a nice beat) and random mixed CDs.

LOL - you guys crack me up. Thanks for the input. I hate to admit it but I used to do those sweating to the oldies tapes with Richard Simmons. Maybe I should join the 21rst century and get an mp3 player. Now should I go tread or should I watch my soap opera...decisions decisions...

You'll get so engrossed on whose cheating on who this week you'll forget about watching the time! ;D As far as a mp3 player, I've been thinking of asking for one this Christmas. We'll see!
