OMG !! .. We took our lovely labrador Pablo for a walk to the sea today .... We had to park the car at the top of the cliff and then walk down the cliff path to the beach .... When we were at the top of the cliff a stone got loose and went over the side of the cliff .... and Pablo ran to chase that stone and he went STRAIGHT OVER THE EDGE of the cliff !! ... He tumbled down rolling over and over and hitting the cliff edge as he went down ... and then landed in some thick bushes at the bottom ... We thought he was dead!! We honestly thought he was dead!! A man down on the beach had seen what happened and went running over to the bushes ... we couldn't see Pablo because he was hidden "in those bushes" ... anyway that dog picked himself up .. shook himself ... looked somewhat "surprised" by what had happened ... and then looked up ... saw us at the top of the cliff and came running up the path to join us ... tail wagging !! He SOMEHOW doesn't have a scratch on him!! The only thing I can think of is that because our cliffs are made of chalk (remember the "white cliffs of Dover") it was SOFT enough to not harm him on his way down! IF it had been solid rock it would have been a WHOLE DIFFERENT story !! ... Once we had checked him for injuries I couldn't stop hugging him!! .... I would be totally devastated if anything happened to that dog .... Here he is back at home after his "ordeal" :

THANKYOU so much ... OMG I can see that we not only love our kids on this site but we also love our four-legged furry friends !! They really ARE so much part of the family aren't they? I was in fact discussing this with a fellow dog-owner at work today and she said that if anything happened to her dog she would definitely need some time off work because she would be soooo heartbroken ... and I agreed .... but we also thought about the people who would say "But it's just an ANIMAL!" ... (Little do they know !!) Oh and gabrielsmom - you have to tell me more about "thingyapoo" ! ;D ;D I think the filter got you !! ;D ;D Here is another picture of my "hero" taken today just to really show he is 100% in one piece!!

Goodness Anne.... Pablo is quite the handsome dog!! I too am so glad he came out ok!! And you did as well! I probably would have fell out with a panic attack or something! I am totally with you when you say you would be devestated if anything happened to him. Andy jokes sometimes that he hopes he goes before Duchess because he don't know if he'll be able to handle me when she leaves us!! She is truly my baby, my "Boo-boo Kitty"! lol
Take care of that special dog!..... and they say cats have nine lives! LOL
