It´s official; I´am the meanest mom in the block

I was SO ANGRY yesterday, and I still am when I stop thinking about it

My ds10 walk´s home from school and spend´s couple of hour´s alone before we come home (only occasionally, not everyday, this is very common in here, this is very safe place) He like´s it, can do the homework without me looking over the shoulder and then watch something etc. We havent allowed friend´s when we are not here, only if he ask´s for it and only sometimes... We will not do that anymore

Yesterday he was alone at home, phoned me at work as he´s supposed to, asked if one of his mate´s could stay for a while... and I agreed, my bad I know

When I got home, 2 friend´s were here, sneaking around and left right after my arrival Got me suspicious But everything seemed to be alright...

Until Sami told me that ´those 2 boy´s had shearched my office closet´s when looking for Sami´s pasword for a game I was stunned and ANGRY
HOW ON EARTH DID THEY THINK THAT THEY HAVE ANY RIGHT´S TO SHEARCH TROUGH MY CABIN´S

Well.... the other boy came back and got his ear full I also told him he´s not allowed at our house when dh or I are not around. He was very apologetic, got tier´s on his eyes and all...GOOD, MAYBY NOW HE WILL REMEMBER IT FOR A WHILE

We didnt see the other boy yesterday, today I called him and told him to get at my house asap or I would most certainly go to his house.... He came, got what was coming for him, apologised and was also very uncomfortable of the situation...... GOOD THING

I´am still steaming when I think about this.... they were looking at my desk What on earth was going on in their mind, and more importantly; what have they been theached of other´s belonging´s I know both of their parent´s and i know that I can get the best result´s by telling this straight to the boy´s, their parent´s dont really are Seemed like they got my point, they ar not allowed to be here unsupervised and they know that... they also know me better for not to try to come here when we are not here.

My reputation as the most meanest mom of the block got good bump up I dont mind... mayby that´ll theach them to behave around me

Marja ... you have EVERY right to be SOOOO angry!! ... That is totally OUT OF ORDER !!

It reminds me of the time (I remember posting it here) when I came home unexpectedly at lunchtime during a holiday to find two girls rummaging through my make up bag and blatantly using all they could find on their faces!! I STILL get mad when I remember that ...

But what you are describing is in fact even MORE personal and I am glad that you have spoken STERNLY to BOTH boys concerned!! I also totally agree that you were right to speak directly to the boys rather than the parents ... This is more often than not by far the most "effective" route in my opinion!! ...

I would have to agree WELL DONE !! I once had an incident that involved a minor (age 16 and should have known better) and some vandelism to our home. The parent actually came over to apologize for the incident. I said no way, get that kid over here!! After lecturing the kid on the respecting other peoples property, the parents agreed to 60 hours of hard labor on our new house. He spent most of two weeks putting in a new lawn for us.

Marja, did your conversation with the kids involve a lot of "What were you thinking??!!"

I have to ask you though...what did your ds have to say about the incident? I know you said he could have one friend over but 2 came. I am willing to bet that ds didn't know how to handle the situation.

Miles; I used "what were you thinking"... about ... MANY TIMES with both of them I´am still stunned, what were they thinking anyway

Linda; Ds had no tool´s, he just didin´t know what to do in the situation like that These two are the one´s I´ve been ramblign on earlier too, the two bully one´s So apparently, the other hold ds out of the closet and the other one went through the things.....

I hope so much, that he would learn to handle these thing´s... I know he has to face these kind a situation´s in the future too I´ve mase a back up plan for case´s like this; daycare lady that has my dd4, live´s only 200 m away and she told me that in the case like this ds could walk to her and she´ll help, bless her, she´s lovely lady.

And you all are wonderfull too, thank´s for the encouradgement I´ll keep up being

Oh marja...I would go for that kid that was holding Sami back from the closet that is criminal....I wouldn't let that little monster get away with what he did to your sweet boy. There was nothing Sami could have done under the circumstances

We only have one "problem child" in this neighborhood... so far... and his mom told me that he is afraid of me! I think that's good... because I don't trust him!

I think kids need to be confronted when there is a problem.

Update.... I dont know if I want to even write this down, because it still drive´s me mad

I found a piece of jewellery on the floor, a piece of necklase, shaped like a sharp dagar... I asked whom does it belong and ds told it´s A´s(the one holding him back) I wondered how it got to my floor and ds told me (not wliingly) that A had threadned him with the jewellery(it´s about 3 cm long and quite sharp) that he would hurt ds with it

I dont know... I still dont trust the parent´s doing any good in this, I did yell at this child already, I´ve desided to sit on that jewellery and wait until he feel´s convident enought to come to collect it AND then I will tell him what I think about his action´s I´ll tell him that next time I call the cop´s

That boy is already not allowed to come to my house and that will stand for a long time.....

I'm jumping in on this a little late here (sorry) but I agree with Linda! Your boy was threatened while these boys were rummaging through your PRIVATE property. I believe both would be considered breaking the law!! I would talk to the parents and let them know you are coming to them first as a courtesy and are holding the necklace as evidence. If they don't do something then call the police.

christy and Linda, you both mention very important thing´s and I´am not taking this light at all, I will confront the parent´s and protect my kid. I guess it´s easier to you to call the police tha for us, it´s not really the prosedure in here.... we try to solve thing´s between individual´s and after that if it´s really not working... go to police... I´ll make sure both the kid´s and their parent do know I dont tolerate this kind of a behaviour
