Oh Ralph, thank you. I opened the link and found the memorial to be absolutely beautiful. It is so wonderful to be able to see the face of and read about the man whose name I wore on my wrist for so many years. Tears welled up in my eyes looking at his face. He was only 27. Of course I wish he had lived, but I pretty much knew that was a fantasty. I emailed his comrade who had written the memorial. Thank you again Ralph. I'm sure I would not have gotten this much from writing to the Pentagon.

Amsmom You are a real sweetheart, I rase my hat to you! I´am clad that now you know what happened to your POW/MIA, I think closure´s are important! It´s so hard not to know, keep hope´s up and try to carry on! I have never been a hippie, mostly due my age, born in 1971 But it seem´s like a fun phase of time Vietnam, I´ve mostly read about, I had my own POW/MIA-case in finish-born major Larry A. Thorne(I remember he was major) who´s remain´s were founded a couple year´s ago in Vietnam, and then buried to Arlington cemetary. I have no relation to him, only interest to his marvelous careér and life, salute to him too. Ralph, I found your army-page´s totally helpfull, that´s where I found information about Thorne last year! Marja

Oh, thank you Marja. I believed so strongly in wearing Nicholas' bracelet for all those years. It was a very plain looking metal bracelet and I can remember never taking it off for any reason, until it broke. I felt that was the least I could do. It was such an incredible feeling to see his picture and learn about him with Ralph's help. BTW, you are a mere child!!!!!

One of my favourite songs from the Forrest Gump soundtrack is "San Fransisco". It was recorded by Scott McKenzie, but written by John Phillips of the Mamas and Papas. John Phillips also wrote another song that is on the Forrest Gump soundtrack -- "California Dreamin'". That song was written while the group was in New York, but wished to be in LA. In later years, Phillips wrote "Kokomo" for the Beach Boys. That song went to number one in 1988. I saw the Beach Boys once in the 80s -- what a group!! I loved Carl Wilson's high voice. Did you ever where some flowers in your hair? www.schwartz-hamburg.de/floh/musik/ms907.jpg[/img]"If you're going to San Francisco Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair If you're going to San Francisco You're gonna meet some gentle people there For those who come to San Francisco Summertime will be a love-in there In the streets of San Francisco Gentle people with flowers in their hair All across the nation such a strange vibration People in motion There's a whole generation with a new explanation People in motion people in motion For those who come to San Francisco Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair If you come to San Francisco Summertime will be a love-in there If you come to San Francisco Summertime will be a love-in there"
