I'm always reading that ADHD people are usually right-brained. I've also read that left-handed people are right-brained. So this got me wondering: How many of you/your kids are right-brained? And if so, are you/they left-handed? I am left-handed, and right brained, as far as I can tell. All of my kids are righties. My oldest is quite the artist, and my middle guy is going to be architect some day. My daughter should be a veterinarian, she already talks to animals like they are people. Oh, this leads to another question. What job do you think your kid would be great at, looking at their interests?

I used to be left handed when I was a kid...but the teachers made me switch to my right hand...I still do things with my left hand...open doors...drinking coffee etc. I have one son who is a leftie and his son...Jacob is a leftie. Paul like many ADHD kids has found his element and that is being outside...he does a lot of outside work. He is also a people person and gets along with everyone. It sure was not the case though when he was much younger ;D ;D ;D ;D He would rather have argued than eat ;D ;D ;D ;D...time takes care of a lot of things.

Tick...tick....tick.... It is all relevant but true. The things that were problems once before, are now a memory, and it made us stronger because of it, although it was unbearable at the time. By the way, Nathan and I are both left handed and right handed, although primarily right handed. Miles

:)Gpa was a lefty, momma a rightie, I'm a leftie, Rose is a rightie. Both Rose and I are very artistic allthough she is more so. Rose will probably do something with art or animals. She does a very good job with both.

I think Sami will do something that give´s him great opportunity to invent thing´s, keep on thouch on everything and great deal of freedom.... he want´s to be a farmer/guesthouse owner.....I think what ever he choose he´ll do fine, he´s my little jack of all art´s

I think this idea (which thank goodness is now obsolete!) of "changing lefties into righties" was barbaric ... and it happened to YOOUUU!! I am right handed, so is dh and so is Sam ... although Sam to THIS DAY still eats with his knife and fork the "other" way around ... i.e. knife in left hand and fork in right !! .. He has ALWAYS done it and insists it is much more "comfortable" to him...

My brother was a lefty and the 2nd gr teacher took him from class to class making fun of him then she spanked him for being lefty as he wouldn't switch. (back then they could do that sort of thing) I am a righty BUT ;D ;D being a mom I have tentacles that can grab from any direction at the speed of lightening. ;D Just ask Jared.... ;D ;D According to Bobo it has nothing to do with brains..otherwise I would have more use of mine.. ;D ;D (he is just kidding)

I am right handed as well as Cami. She holds her pencil in a strange way, despite her 5th grade teacher trying hard to make her hold it "proper".
I think Cami wouod be a good teacher herself, esp. with small children. She has a way with youngsters. They all seem to love her and flock to her!

DH, DS, and I are all right-handed, but DD is left-handed. I don't know of anyone else in either of our families who is left-handed except an uncle of mine. There are several artistic people in both families, however. I did a little reading and found out that left-handedness is such a recessive trait that even if both parents are left-handed, their children are still more likely to be right-handed than left-handed. Many ADDers are left-handed or ambidextrous. DS is adamant about being a fireman when he grows up--even wants to build his muscles so he can carry equipment.

all of us are right handed except for brittany! of course! we didn't know for a long time if she'd be left or right handed because she used both for so long. she writes with her right hand but does everything else left handed. no one made her do anything one way or the other, it's evidently just how she feels comfortable. she's always wanted to work with sea animals but is now not sure she can get a job that would pay enough to live on. so she's still searching. she's currently taking an auto class and loves it. then she's taking a pastry class in the fall. after that i think she's about exhausted most of the classes she thought she might be interested in! this is her 3rd year at the community college. seems to be very large number of lefties in our kids. there must be some sort of connection. Hey, maybe tom cruise can fix that too!!! sorry, that was mean. karen

According to scientology, no one needs fixing.

silly me! does scientology believe that we're all perfect? i don't know, i'm just asking. surely we can all aspire to be better? like my meds sure keep me from being a total bit** to my entire family. that sure sounds like it needs fixing to me! thank goodness it works! for all our sakes! karen
