This is fun ... ;D
Similarly to Cami's Dad ... I have always and often referred to Sam as "Sambo" ... I never use it in public or in front of his friends but I have always used it consistently with just the two of us ... and he doesn't mind it AT ALL ...
When he was young I forced myself never to call him Sammy ... thinking this was way to babyish as he grew up ... BUT now at the ripe old age of 15 he often refers to himself as "Sammy" and his self-chosen nickname on parts of the internet is "Sammy" ... so he seems to actually like it!!
Don't laugh !!... But my sister is known as "Bear" ... her real name is Marion ... but apparently I kept calling her "Bear" when we were both tiny and it has completely and utterly stuck ... even her husband calls her Bear ...

Well, you've all heard about Hurricane Kate...when she was little we called her fierce buttgirl, because her sitter would say "she was a butt today" when she acted up. Now when she drives me crazy I call her Little Miss Can't-Be-Wrong, which drives her crazy!

Patrick is "Buzz" not for his haircuts, but for the funny sound his teeth make with his braces.
Shaun is called "The Squirrel" because he tends to run a few feet, stop and twitch, then run a little more!
Michael hates when we call him "Oz" which is short for Ostrich, the bird's eye is bigger than it's brain... and sometimes he acts like that!
My name of course is tridlette, because my oldest brother always used the play on words, If Trix are for kids, the Kicks are for Trids. He loved to kick me all the time!

Our 5 year old ds was 3 when he was adopted and we called him "peanut". His name is August and in Russia his named is shortened to "gusya" which we shortened to Goose thinking we'd eventually change it to Gus. When his personality started to emerge (i.e. his ADHD symptoms) we kept Goose because it's a better match! Parents of his friends don't believe it when their kids come home talking about their friend Goose. I get a lot of looks. Our 2 year old ds doesn't really have a nickname yet. My sister tried to give him Sweet Pea and Pumpkin Pie and now every time you call him Sweet Pea he says "no pea, pumpkin pie". I guess he made his choice! Shannon

I call my son Steven "Shorty" because he is 10 and a half and just over 5 feet tall. I did one of those computer programs when he was seven that is supposed to estimate your child's height at adulthood and it said he will be 6'4 inches.

We were going to call Aaron A.J. but never have. His dad used to call him Bud when he was younger, so just after his little sister was born whenever she would cry he would say "What's the matter, Bud?"
Emily we call Emmy.

Jeez, when I was youngerm we had a family friend that used to call me and my sisters munchkins or lollipop kids b/c we ALWAYS had the Wizard of Oz on when it came on TV. That was the big popcorn night at our house, then and when the Sound of Music came on. We started calling him a flying monkey, like the ones the wicked witch of the west had at her place......

Oh yeah, when I was about 6yrs old, I developed my liking of older guys ;D. I had the BIGGEST crush on Dustin Hoffman, We watched Little Big Man when that came on too.
A guy from work, actually a friend of my parents started calling my husband Driftwood. He said there's a song out there titled Driftwood and Katie or something like that. I still haven't heard it though, I am curious to hear it.
Until Later Driftwood's Wife aka Kaiti

My daycare provider called DS "blue eyes", claiming his were bluer than Frank Sinatra's, and then changed it to "BOOF-LEE" an spin off of Bruce-Lee, but BOOF, for all of the little bumps and bangs he did when he was a toodler. Now at 8.5 we call him: "me, moe, mimo, pumpkin-pie, and boogy-woogin-dancin-shoes. ;D DH always calls me BABE, I sometimes tease him that he has forgotten my real name. So far DH is usually HUN, we have tried others but none have stuck.
