10 The good china is in a box at the bottom of a stack of boxes in the scary part of the basememt.
9....Who are you kidding? You hate to cook.
8...Dishwasher-safe is a lie.
7...The kids can't compare your cooking with that of Daddy;s new wife.
6...No one has to watch grandpa eat the neck.
5...It's more fun not to speak to each other in public.
4...No telltale empties in the trash for in-laws to count.
3...This year,if someone gets sick, you wont be the defendant.
2...Club soda will get that ....Oh who cares?
1...You could craft a turkey from ice cream, and the kids still wouldn't eat it.

Mabye I am weird but I like cooking Thanksgiving meal. I have done it for 26 yrs and thouroughly enjoy all the mess. I get out of watching football with the guys, I get out of visiting my inlaws (fate worse than death) I get out of seeing all my parents grandkids in one small house for an entire day (I swear each and every one of em are adhd including mine) I get out of raking leaves...(my hubbies idea of a day off) I get to use his great granmas china this one day a year (his mom was gonna sell it in a garage sell but I bought it from her...that is how well we get along) NO ONE is allowed in the kitchen (hubby has to deal with it all while I cook) AND by the time I get it all cleaned up everyone else is so full and tired that bedtime is a piece of cake. (or should I say pie) Gee I should have it once a week.

Lets see now I can clean up the kitchen OR i can get the kids to settle down brush teeth and bathe , feed all the animals, rehear the play by plays of the games, (as if over dinner wasn't enough) , drive company home, take out trash, etc etc. I just put on some soft music in the kitchen and hide there doing dihes etc . (have been known to take hours of quiet relaxation whle cleaning up) Its all how you veiw the world past the litchen door. It does hubby good to handle the rest of it for awhile...so while I relax he learns. Actually it works out well around here and if you were all close enough you could come. I still remember the firdst thanksgiving we had at his moms..She decided to cook a 25 lb turkey in the microwave. Plus that no one in the family will make sweet potato pie for my hubby but me. So he is in debt to me. (eternally)

I'd be fine doing the dishes, but I hate pots and pans Oh I just realized.....shocker there, I CAN"T cook thanksgiving Dinner. I only have the 2 small burners working on my stove plus the screws fell out of the top coil in the oven, man I need a new stove.

I dont mind the dishes...how do you get by with out a functioning stove girl you need a stove to live..if you were closer I 'd have my brother get you one..He works for an appliance store and when all the rich people get new appliances (color change etc) they give him their old ones. Personaaly I dont mind having a almond colored stove when black is in style as long as they work but you know how the rich and wasteful are. My brother is moving to Texas this next month (he met a woman on line)...I guess I will miss him and his appliances. haha (I might ought to upgrade the dryer befor he leaves.)

Just think how long the pressure canner takes to warm up and get done when I'm putting beans up Actually, since we have the microwave, it's not too bad. Fry on one burner, potatoes on the other, garlic bread in the oven adn beans in the microwave ;D I would LOVE to have a brand new stove. Heck, I'd like to have a "new" anything. We like hand me downs because of the price. Don't laugh, but the only thing that we paid for was our 2nd hand stove and that was only $50. That includes our major things like dressers, couches, everything. Quite proud of myself, and so is Hubby. I need to start a thread on how cheap we can be or something
