I was in a class today discussing State, Federal and Local policies on harassment, privacy, family medical leave, discrimination...... I found myself thouroghly engossed in in thinking about doing structural testing in college. What brought that on? I tapped my foot on the floor, and wondered how the floor span was supported below. It could have been Span-crete, which is a product I tested on school, using strain gauges, now how were they hooked up so they did not bust when the product went to failure.... I looked up and was like wow, where are we now?? I am sure we all have moments like that.... Miles

You know, I sit through some meetings for work and then I feel like I'm in school again. They ask for a vote, and I have to peek over at the secretary's notes to see what we were talking about. Then in order for me to cover, I just say: Well, I'll have to give it a thought. Like I wasn't thinking that the person sitting accross the table really shouldn't be wearing that red skirt with a brown top. Boy, y'all have been spying on me!! Kaiti

Have you ever been put on hold when making a telephone call and forgotten who you were calling? This happens to me all the time.
How about this one. Have you ever lost your car in a parking lot? I mean really LOST your car so that it took a very long time to find? I thought it was stolen and almost called the police.

I always forget who I was calling and politely tell them who I am in hopes that it will jog my memory as to who in the world I was calling......

I always lose my car! I hate that, it makes me feel so stupid! Took the kids to Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO last spring. Parked the car and started walking towards the trolley that takes you up to the park, and thought to myself, okay I'm parked in lot C row 17. C17, C17, C17...... That evening we get off the trolley and I'm still thinking to myself C17, C17. Walk around for 30 minutes and my car is NOWHERE in C17. Take the kids and my sister back up to the trolley station, let them sit on a bench and wander around some more on my own. I finally found it. I was in lot D! Turned out I parked at the front of row D, which was across a road. Evidently I had walked a bit before I had thought to notice where I parked, and by the time I looked, I had crossed over into lot C. What a moron! I swear I don't remember crossing that road!

Training class...what training class? Was I there? Did I sleep through that one? Or was I planning a vacation to Costa Rica, or thinking about that book I just finished, or wondering where to go for lunch, or wishing for a fire drill so I can get OUT of this room...

a little gift i've given to my adult adhd'ers is a spin ring. they all have told me it helps them keep focused on the meetings/lectures/presentations where they've got to stay seated. you spin the middle section with your thumb or opposite hand fingers, so that you are fidgeting silently and able to stay with the blah-blah-blahs being presented. much less "red skirt and brown blouse" episodes, so they say. ((LOL! on that one, red!)) prayers, 1mom

Yes Mom, I know what you mean ;D I actually "spin" my wedding band and HS classring when it comes down to it. In church I used to count the tiles on the ceiling... Make my eyes wander and find different shapes in the tiles. Oh my, but I remember the lessons, not always the sermons, but the lessons Kaiti

Man. This is some funny stuff. I caught mysellf-then I lost myself-then I lost my train of thought while the tracks were being loosened by a hugh earthquake that was caused by a gigantic meteorite. When I am in church and I sing "Amazing Grace" I crack up. "I was lost but now I am found, I was blind but now I see" I heal myself with laughter and humor. And my ADHD makes me want to cry a lot and feel bad, but It's just so much cooler to laugh it off.

My favorite church game is "Under the Sheets," the game where you add those words to the titles of hymns ... you get stuff like
"I Need Thee Every Hour" Under the Sheets,
"We Gather Together" Under the Sheets,
and, my personal favorite,
"O For a Thousand Tongues" ...
These days, few churches have hymnals anymore, so this game is kind of obsolete ...
