I try to encourage my daughter with the positive side of ADHD. Creativity, energy, and empathy for those society considers 'different" are all positive traits I see in ADHDers. We don't talk about ADHD much but when she brings up the subject I try to be positive. Amen to that!!!! I think adhd´rs have such amazing abilitie´s to just like you descriped. that should be encouradged rather that punished.... who´ll know how they grow up to be.

Hello All. Your posts on this subject are so helpful. I am not an adult with ADD, but I have tried so hard to understand what my two daughters feel or experience when they take meds.
My youngest says the medicine "controls her brain" and she doesn't want it to. I would think having everything come to order would be a big relief. I am having trouble (guilt?) over her comments over the years about feeling "controlled". Does anyone else feel this way? I really want to understand.
Thanks, Judy
