I feel like I may have Adult ADD. My 8 year old son has ADHD, and I feel like we have alot of the same issues. I am unsure as to what should be my first step, and what type of Dr. to see to be diagnosed. Thank you for any suggestions.

Welcome EHBeauty!
I don't have ADHD but we are going through the process of getting my DD dx. In our state pediatricians don't dx. You must go through the mental health profession. We are going through a psychiatrist's office. They have therapists there too who help with some of the behavior issues with her.
I would start there. They can offer lots of help, not only with meds, but counseling/therapy if you want it.
You will also find great advice here. This is an awesome bunch of people!
Good luck and welcome aboard!

Hi!!! and welcome...aimee30 is right, you will get a lot of good advice here. I think your first step should be to go to Dr. Amen's site www.brainplace.com and take the ADHD test to see how you come out. I did this, and it was what confirmed my feeling that I should go get diagnosed. Your next step might be to discuss it with your General Practicioner and see if he or she can reccomend either a Neurologist or Psychiatrist who specializes in ADHD. You can discuss what measures need to be taken with them. ADHD is heriditary, so there probably is a good chance that if you feel like you have ADHD, that you do, but it's helpful to get that diagnosis, and get on the road to helping yourself. Good Luck!
