Oh I got my "zones" done this weekend!! And my sink has been shining for over a month!
So fess up! How did your bathroom and the one other room go last week?
I chose the linen closet as my other room (yeah cheated a tad!), but it is in the hallway so kind of in another room?? LOL You know the large lawn and leaf garbage bags?? I filled one of those up, plus a regular kitchen bag (rags went out in hubby's garage)...
I couldnt believe how old some of the medicines in the cabinet were!! I swear I have cleaned them out since 1998!!! ARGH... LOL
I am not looking forward to the master bedroom at all this week... argh dh wont clean his side of the closet and would have a fit if I start going through his clothes...

Wow! I haven't been exactly following the zone defense. I happened to decide the bathroom was gagging my last week, so I chose to start working on it. Saturday I had time to read all my flylady posts, and found out I was "in the zone" so to speak. I scrubbed the tiles, bleached the grout, chiseled the toilet...
I then decided to clean the linen closet too! How funny we consider it another room! I threw out bath towels that my DH had before I met him in 1985. Sheets for the double bed we have never owned! Two complete garbage bags full. DH picked through what he wanted for rags, and the rest are at the curb waiting for the G-man.
I filled another full bag with the beach towels. I am going to use one of my old rubbermaid totes and put them out on the porch for swimming season. When the pool is closed, they can go back into the storage instead of my linen closet!
My in laws will be here next Friday, so I have been really working on the house since last month. I have just one room, this computer room where I home school, that still looks worse than Allanque's place. Imagine that, twice as deep in a 2200 sq. ft. house plus the yard and the porch and my car! I am please with 80 percent passing right now. I am not going to be perfect anymore!
My kitchen will be perfect by next week... it has to be. We just renovated that room, gutted it from the avacodo and orange to updated oak and granite counter tops. It has to be showcase since this is the first company since it was completed!
Thanks for the added inspiration to keep working!
Allanque, you are not behind... YOU ARE IN FIRST PLACE!
Work on just getting the bowls put away and allowing the doors to open and shut! BABY STEPS !

Allanque- You are not behind!! Baby steps!
Tridlette- glad to hear you were in the "zone"... My bathroom is still clean!! WHOOO HOO believe me that is an accomplisment... Even dh put his dirtly clothes away! usually he leaves them on the floor...
Now this theory of flylady's about washing the shower while you are takeing your shower, with just regular soap I am doing an so far so good... I kind of have doubts about how well it is really cleaning it though.. LOL

OK, Fessing up too....not quite as bad as Allanqua's, but that's what our "hot spot" DR table looks like Our floors are swept, bathrooms, well, they are another story. I had actually cleaned out our linen closet a couple of months ago, when we were looking for the hangers, and since it's not actually holding linens (everything but) It's kept up quite nicely. ;D I am getting kinda stressed with it and all of the other stuff, but babysteps have let me keep up with laundry and keep my dishes washed. Not a shiny sink yet, but tonight will be the night (I think) Kaiti

I survived the MIL/FIL test! I did very little FLYing all weekend... it helped that my in laws treated us to dinner all 3 nights!
My sink is still shining... Michael's bedroom will never be the same! I absolutely went wild in his room last week. I removed two complete 30 gallon trash cans filled with just garbage, plus another of recycles, and another of hand me downs.
I vacuumed the entire room. And since it was over 60 degrees all week, I aired it out. An important detail when offering the teen age boy's bed to your in laws!
He, of course has tried to reinvent the old space since getting home from school at 3:30... I can only demand that he leave room for me to get to his alarm clock every night.
My MIL saw my control journal and asked about it, but before I could explain DH said that it was his new Bible! He worships the transformation! Little does he know that his side of our bedroom is the next to meet with the trash bags ;D
I still am not in the right zone, but I am actually FLYing, loving myself!
I don't know who ever introduced us first to FLY Lady, but whoever you are... God Bless You!

I'm hoping that after spring break, I'll have a bit of time to pick up a bit.

I feel like I am at an AA meeting.
Hi, my name is Becky and I have completely ignored that I am a FLYbaby.
Actually, I am not actually following the system to a tee, but I am following the principals and my house has never been cleaner. The really scary thing is that since it looks so nice, I actually want to clean. That is not right!!! LOL
For the first time in my life I can honestly say that anyone can go into any closet, room, cupboard, cabinet, anything, (expect by undie drawer) and I would not be embaressed. This is a good feeling. It probably helped that Lake Becky forced me to get all that laundry done, but now I am on top of it!!

Becky, you go! I still have my own national disaster area (aka my bedroom) and my walk in closet is strictly off limits to the faint of heart. My computer room looks atrocious and two of the boys rooms are wild. But that which I have touched is demanding to remain clean. I too, don't follow the rules. SHOES? I think not! Make up~ never did do that! I have breakfast and lunch dishes on my computer desk, but my sink shines! I am not FLYing really, but I can almost feel the wing buds starting to appear! I guess I won't really ever be a FLY, but I read in my Guideposts magazine a few months back: If you feel like you are too small to make a difference, you have never been in bed with a mousquito! I hope someday I can be a mousquito! Laurie

Let me get this straight--you want to be a pain in the butt?!?!? LOL ;D
I have to wear the shoes. I wear shoes from the minute I set foot on the floor in the morning and until I lay down at night. I am in PT for my legs and if I don't wear my tennis shoes I can hardly walk the next day.
Make-up is only worn if I am leaving the house. This is not a beauty pagent.

I flunked last weeks master bedroom... And so far am failing the kitchen... Dont know if I will get to the outside of the cupboards tonight (our kellys mission for today)... BUT!! The good news is my bathroom and linen closet are still clean!!! WHOOO HOOOO My sink is still shining (all beit with a few dishes on the countertop!)... It does look better, than before... I have a question though! I want to make room for food, I never seem to have enough food storage space... There is absolutely no chance for a pantry... I want to go through my pots and pans drawer, can I throw them in the garbage? Or will the garbage man get hurt when his truck tries to chop them up? BTW rosyred THAT is the perfectionist in you my dear! SQUASH HER!! LOL

That sounds like a recycling violation of some sort, but I don't really know the laws on that.
Are they good enough to be donated? Pots are pans are probably welcome at the Goodwill.
Otherwise, one thing that I did to make extra room was to put up one of those simple storage shevles in the basement. I can put lots of non-parishable stuff on them and now I can buy in bulk too. I just keep enough up in the kitchen for a few meals.
I have a really small house so storage is a big deal to me, especially since I have learned that I can't store anything within a foot of the basement floor. You would be amazed at some of the ways I have learned to store things. My cousin and his wife have 3 kids, all under 5, and they live in a 2 bedroom apt! They have given me some major inspiration for storage, but I have yet to hang my bike above my bed!! ;D

Perfectionist, smirfectionist...... It still ain't getting done by itself I use old pots and stuff for flower pots. I actually have an old perculator, actually not old, but we lost the top thing out of it so it would perk all over if we used it. Got that on the front porch, used to have chicks and hens in it, but they died, so next time I'm thinking Cactus. Oh well, almost dinner time Kaiti
