For those who have asked, I got a check for $911 today from my insurance, in payment for the $1400 claim I submitted for our Pfeiffer appointment. Almost $200 wasn't paid because the individual charge exceeded their allowable. Then we had $354 to pay in deductable and co-pays. Since there were something like 24 labs, they charged some co-pay on each one. But we were obviously out of network.
I was afraid some of these would fall in the category of "experimental" which my insurance uses with a surprising number of treatments which they call unproven. So anyway, I am pleasantly surprised at the amount they paid.

Wow, that's not bad at all! Perhaps I'll make a visit to Pfeiffer. That's near Chicago right? Which direction is it from Chicago? I'm about 2 1/2 hours north of Chicago, on the shores of Lake Michigan.

You know, that's really a pretty good reimbursement. The charges also sound reasonable to begin with, considering the amount of testing they did. Nice to know that a visit to Pfeiffer doesn't have to break the bank completely (just fracture it a little!)

It's less than an hour west of downtown Chicago, so it definitely wouldn't be too far for you. It's about an 8 hour trip for us, but that is manageable. Keep us posted if you decide to go for it.
