I am going to be starting my son on EPO very soon but wanted some guidance on proper therapeutic dosages first.
*He is 6 yrs. 48-50 lbs.*
Also, I just started him on an antioxidant capsule that contains 30 mg. grapeseed extract and 30 mcg. trans-Resveratrol (from Japanese Knotwood extract). It says 1-3 capsules daily. Can anyone tell me the proper dosage of this as well. I have currently only been giving 1 a day but want to make sure I am at least giving enough to make a difference!
Thanks Kimmers

Kimmers, You're giving your son Omega-3 aren't you? When I give my boy his Omega-3, I also give him a 500mg capsule of EPA that contains 65mg GLA. (It is apparently the GLA that is the critical factor in the EPO.) As for the knotwood extract, that's a new one to me. If you post a link to look at more info about it, I'd love to take a look.

Cat- Here is a link to the exact supplement I have been giving him: www.sundownnutrition.com/products.asp?upc=030768004033#(click on the "Also See:" link at the bottom to get dosage info.) I am not sure what the knotwood extract is for but they have added that in. From what I can gather is that it is supposed to do the same thing as the grapeseed maybe? FYI: The reason I decided to start giving him grapeseed was due to the suggestions on Dr. Amen's website for ADD Combined-Type... "Nutritional supplements can also have a positive effect on brain dopamine levels and help with focus and energy. I often have my patients take a combination of tyrosine (500-1,500 milligrams two to three a day), OPC grape seed or pine bark (1 milligram per pound of body weight) and gingko biloba (60-120 milligrams twice a day). These supplements help increase dopamine and blood flow in the brain and many of my patients report that they help with energy, focus and impulse control." Dr. Amen suggests taking 1 mg. per lb. of body weight which would equal roughly 48 mg. for my son. I am unsure if it would be better to give 1 capsule and be under or give 2 capsules and be over...Help! Yes, he is still taking the flax seed until it is gone and then we will be switching back to the fish oil which seems to work better for him. Also, the EPO that I got for him contains: gamma-Linolenic Acid (Omega-6) 100 mg Linoleic Acid (Omega-6) 910 mg Other Fatty Acids 290 mg One capsule a day should be sufficient right? Thanks! Kimmers

Cat -
I've started giving my son an EPA capsule (with the same GLA as yours). I've been giving him one in the morning with a RXOmega-3 capsule. Should I give him another EPA at night with his other Omega-3 dose?
