some dumb about waterwise. Which waterwise system did you buy and why? I looked at their site and am seriously considering it. I have always suspected those plastic bottles of being no good. where did you find a glass bottle big enough? How do you keep enough water on hand if it takes about 4.5 hr to make a small batch. We use a lot of water! Is the water hot when it is ready? Thanks, lisle

Lisle, The new model 8800. It makes 1 gal in a few hours. The reason I selected this one is on advice from my sister who has two different models she uses from this company. She knows a lot about these distillers and I've never gone wrong listening to her.
I have the gallon size glass jars that are commonly used for making Iced T/Sun T. These have that little pour spout at the bottom of the jar that is convenient. Or you can buy manonaise in the gallon size glass jars and use those jars too. You can usually get these containers in almost any grocery store. Once your water is distilled just poor it into the jar and refrigerate for later.
Yes, the water will be hot once it is freshly distilled.

I got my waterwise distiller this weekend and we have used it for several days now. I am amazed at how great the water tastes from it. It is very easy to use also. So thanks for the recommendation ohmama! I'm feeling healthier already

Austins mom, Glad to hear it. Don't forget to increase your magnesium supplements now. Do I sound like a mother or what?

ohmama--ok oh great water wizard, I will need the scoop on the magnesium issue. (I am a water novice. ) So do we usually get a good deal of our daily magnesium intake from our water? We all take multi vits, and Austin takes an extra 200 mg magnesium. Do you think we would need to up that now? I should be hearing from Pfeiffer early next week (fingers crossed) so I'll soon be changing to their vitamin recommendations, but definitely want to be well educated on this issue.

Hi, Austin's Mom: Pfeiffer gives us the recommendation that we use equal calcium and magnesium which is hard to find from a health food store but I order over the phone from a co. I can give you their name. That place is so nice and they don't charge postage if you order over I think $40 worth. I get 4-6 bottles at a time since my son takes 3 a day and I take 4. So, I am sure you will be fine with Pfeiffer's recommendation. lisle
