BObo signed the two older boys up for their hunter safety course Friday and Saturday. I was suppose to drop them off Friday since he wasn't off work yet then he would meet them there. Well I took jared with us and he asked the lady if he could take the course. She said yes. so I called his dad and he told me to just stay with them instead. (he knows he cant always handle Jared unmedicated especialy when it comes to book learning and sitting still for 4 hrs.) So I said this is b.s. and I went ahead and signed up too...just to keep from being bored. We had to go back for the entire day yesterday..BUd and Jared both passed with perfect scores..Jimmy got a 94. Not bad! I was proud of them. Saturday Jared was medicated...and very very clingy but he did well..he chose to sit at the table where they read the questions out loud to people but he had all 50 questions completed before the reader made it to number 20. Thank God for meds! ;D ;D Jared wont ever hunt unless it is with a bow..he shoots but is sound sensitive and he loves animals.. Bud plans to go deer hunting with his dad this year so he really had to take the course. I was glad they all passed. It made for a long two days.

Good job!
We had to take hunter safety in Jr. High. It was part of our PE class. Guess thats what you get when half the district is rural. If nothing else, it can be an interesting class.

Congrats to the boys for passing My boys took the course 2 yrs ago and both did well. Levi did better then Riley but then again Levi is the hunter. In fact today we went and got his small game license and then he went hunting and came home with a squirrel but right now it is in my freezer so he can take it to school on tuesday

I keep looking to see what YOUR score was? How did YOU do? Or did I mis~read that you took the course also?
And, I used to love squirrel, although they are small and it takes a few to feed the family...
Now, with Shaun's nickname being, "The Squirrel" I have to be careful what I serve for dinner!

Remember Linda, no dumb questions on this site ;D ;D ;D
Levi is taking it to school because for this 6 weeks of primetime he is taking a hunting class and they have been talking about small game opening (this past weekend) and he is going to take the squirell in so they can maybe dissect it in class. He is also excited because he is going to take in the video of my Dad when they did a show of him on Michigan Outdoors for archery deer hunting.

Good for your boys! Great scores!
Cami has an old girlfriend that took it recently and passed. Cami couldn't understand why a GIRL would want to take it. LOL She has always been a little tomboyish.

There were lots of girls taking it where we went..I am around hunting but more importantly I hike alot and usually during deer season so it is nice to know the laws and what not.... I learned new and important stuff.... Like for instance you dont wear red, white , or blue out hiking during turkey season. Hunters might shoot at ya. See I can learn. ;D ;D ;D

Oh, Cami is such a girly-girl...and loves animals too much to ever be able to shoot one. I think it's cool though that her friend J goes hunting with her dad... I have always had a great admiration of a good daddy/daughter bond.

I would also rather pet than shoot...but I also like to eat...I have named alot of the deer where I hike.. contradiction of ideals there. Raccoons are only cute in pictures , as well as rabbits. I did raise rabbits for food once but I ended up having to slaughter them because BOBO went and fell for them. It is hard to get emotionally attached to a turkey....except for BOBO. ;D It is totally great that the girl and dad have a bond...back when we were that age mom's didn't always work and dads were always at work..kinda weird huh? I will probably not hunt with Bud and Bobo but the cleanup job will be mine. ;D

My motto around here: YOU KILL IT YOU CLEAN IT Unless of course we are in the yard dissecting it and trying to figure out what it just got done eating. Yeah, a little gross, but the smell of berry raised squirrels are the worst.. Sorry Trid, I tried making squirrelitpie before........no thank you, too something...just not that great.....unless I was starving ;D
