My son, the Army JROTC student, was chosen to present the colors at the county football game/awards night ceremony tonight! He is one of four students chosen out of a platoon of 140 for this honor! I am a little disappointed that the weather turned out so cold today, because their Commanding Officer, decided that it is too cold for their Class B uniforms, (dress greens with tie and insignia) and instead is issueing these 4 kids actual Battle Dress Uniforms (BDU's or field camoflage). I was going to go and take pictures of him on the field posting the colors so that I could share my pride with everyone. I still will, but I just wanted it to be in the UNIFORM not in the field dress Either way, I am VERY proud that he is the only Freshman on the line. The program started last year, so there are only a handful of "LET 2" students. He has advanced an extra rank already through his dedication to the program... now if he can maintain academic standing he could be come junior commander by his senior year! Thanks for letting me brag! It has been a long while since he has made me this proud

Well, with her talking about the dangers of bringing her boys down here around Cami and now him in uniform, I'm chopping at the bit to see him myself. Let's remember ladies, I grew up and still live next to a military post (Ft. Benning) so I love me a man in uniform! One of my favorite pictures of my bro is him in his dress greens at our sister's wedding. Hmm, hmm, hmm! If he wasn't my brother! By the way, he is single ... so when he gets home from Iraq... ya'll help me hook him up. Now Laurie, be sure to get those pics of him on here. You're probably taking those pics as I post this. How exciting!!
