Take it at night just before bed for the first week at least.. this will help avoid the stomache aches and other like side effects like tiredness.. Take a snack or milk or something with it too. that'll help!
That;s my best advice.. the worst of it usually wears off overnight then.

Read the insert.
Also, do not expect to see great things right away. Unlike a stim Strattera takes up to six weeks at target dose to show it's full effects.
I will say that the patience is well rewarded.
Brooke is calmer and less impulsive on Strattera than she ever was on stims. However we did have to add back a dose of Concerta to help her focus in school.
Good luck, and I agree, I think it is better to switch during the summer.
