All of you on the Adderall XR. What dosage is your child taking? Kayley has just been upped to 40mg but I'm wondering if it is still enough. She was starting to get pretty hyper, mouth running non-stop. Or it could be that we are once again looking at changing meds altogether.

My sd started on 20 mg, over a year ago, it has since been uped to 30 mg... Plus an after school booster... Sd is 8 years old 40 1/2 inches tall and about 38 lbs (yeah skinny kid)... Sounds like alot of meds for her but believe me she still isnt the zombie we were afraid we would get once we medicated!!
When is she getting hyper? is it in the afternoon? Would an afternoon booster help?

Uh let me think. When she's awake. ;D I have thought of an afternoon dose. She is also on Amantadine and Wellbutrin. She is 11 . Not sure on her weight. Real skinny though.

My son is on 20 mgs. He is 4'7" and 85 lbs...he's lost about 8 lbs since we started on the adderrall xr back in January but his weight is now holding steady at 85 lbs. We are still titrating but I think we are really really close now since 20 mgs seems to do the trick although the impulse control is not quite where it needs to be.

My DS is on a relativly small dose of Adderall XR. He will be 14 in may, weighs 130 lbs and is 5'6" tall. He takes 20 mg once per day on school days only. He is not hyper, he only has inattentive ADHD. He had some impulse control problems when he was younger, but seems to be either outgrowing them or learning how to control them better. he has been on 20 mgs for about 3 years now with a break when we tried concerta and then strattera because he went thru a depression type stage at the start of puberty. Nothing worked as well as the adderall and we went back on it in November. I think that for next year we may have to increase it some, but we will have to see when school starts next fall.
