I have written another thread recently about the doctor wanting to INCREASE my 15 year old son's concerta to 72mg in preparation for his major exams ... well instead of that my son wants to DECREASE it back to 36 mg!!
However, that isn't the purpose of my thread!! Today Sam took just 36 mg instead of the 54mg he has been taking recently ... I noticed he was a little "irritable" today ... and I cast my mind back about 3 weeks to the last time he took a decreased dosage and he was exactly the same!! (more irritable than usual!)... Looking a little further and doing some research I found that a decrease/stopping of Concerta can cause "increased irritability for 2-3 days" ...
Just wondering has anyone else found this when decreasing or stopping meds ?

My dd was sick a couple of months ago so she didn't take her meds for 2 days(Adderrall XR). When she went back on her meds she was extremely whiny for the fisrt 3 days.

We recently added Concerta to Brooke's Strattera. We started at 36, cause that is what we had and the doc said it was OK. We tried it for a week, and saw irritability for the first couple days, and the tics returned But her schoolwork improved. So we dropped it to 18, again with the irritability. But the tics are all but gone and the level of schoolwork has stayed constant with the prior dosage. So we may be at a point where we finally have the meds as tuned as possible. At least until she gains five pounds or grows an inch.

Hi Anne,
Off the subject, but, I sent you an e-mail this am, and got it returned by the "postmaster" twice as an "invalid address"...
