Ok here it goes..... Doc, as I put in a different post put Mikie on zoloft along with his dexedrine and strattera.
Ok about a week in to it we noticed that giveing the noon dexedrine, the fast acting pill that he had mood swings.
When we went to doc in Jan he kept the zoloft which has helped a great deal, but uppded the long acting dexedrine and stopped the noon dexedrine.
Now not only are we having wake up problems we are having meltdowns after school. At school he is as good as an child with problems can be. But at home he is a nightmare around 4 pm. He called his sister a SOB called me a Ahole. Got his gameboy taken away and said he would hurt me if i didn't tell him where I put it.
So today I decided to give a 5mg fast acting pill, since I have so many left from when he was taking it 2 times a day. I gave it at 3:45 and am hoping it works and if it does should I ask the doc to allow an after school dose or should I ask for a total meds change since it has been nearly 2 years on the meds?
Any advice will be helpful.

I talked to school today, and things are going really well there. Sp Ed teacher said he has days where he does really good and days where he just is not into it. Said that they started subtraction and he is doing wonderful at it. Suprised us because he didn't do good at adding. Also said that the way the meds are now at least at school it is working out. He seems more "alive" and " all there" . The Sp Ed teacher even gave him a 70 on his spelling test today because he at least attempted to take the test and got the first letters correct where as the other kids just scribbled.
So I do agree that after talking to school that it is a meltdown. The ride home on the bus is soo long and than he comes home and has Kat being Kat and bossy to him so he just looses it.
I guess that doc could at least give something besides the strattera even if I get a herb like valerain root or something. He takes the Strat with supper and it takes so long to kick in and it really don't control his hyper just makes him sleepy.
Thanks for the input.

Called doc yesterday and told them what we talked about with teacher's and he said we can give 2.5 to 5 mg of the dextrostrat when he gets home from school to help with his meltdown's. Gave him a pill right when he got off bus yesterday, it was kind of hard getting him to sleep but not nearly as much of the drama.
